As tourists enjoyed the sunshine and local workers enjoyed a lunch break on my trip to Barcelona late last year, this homeless lady was busy searching bins for a scrap of discarded food and something to drink in Barcelona’s main square, Plaça de Catalunya. It was sad to see and no, she was not the only person I saw searching bins like this - just as we see in most cities around the world. Most of us are blessed without realising just how much until we see a sight such as this. Always spare a thought for those less fortunate and always count your blessings.
